E-THERM a.s. works in the control of continuous variables such as temperature or pressure, supplies controllers for constant value control and with a time program for one or more control loops, as well as thyristor switching units for control of electrical loads and frequency converters for motor speed control.

Constant value controllers are used to maintain a particular variable (such as temperature) at a specific value regardless of external influences. These controllers usually operate in closed loop mode, where the desired output is calculated by a control algorithm (typically PID) depending on the deviation of the measured and desired variable.
Controllers with a time program allow the setpoint to be curved over time to maintain a profile (typically temperature) according to process requirements.

For multiple control loops, i.e. for controlling several different variables at the same time, multi-loop controllers or automation systems can be used to either integrate multiple control loops in one device or to allow centralised control and coordination of multiple controllers.
